E-bike launched for ‘easy’ integration with public transit at MOVE 2022

Connected e-bike share solution provider Vaimoo has unveiled the Forte Evo model at the international mobility event MOVE 2022, which it claims can be easily integrated into existing public transit systems.
Vaimoo provides smart mobility solutions for last-mile sharing and delivery. Adopted by some of Europe’s leading micromobility operators to extend their sharing scooter services in the UK and Italy, Vaimoo has recently been chosen by some of the leading cycling capitals, including Copenhagen, Rotterdam, and Stockholm.
Urban mobility
Incorporating the latest IoT technologies, the e-bike is designed to be used in both docked (fixed stations) and hybrid (virtual stations) mode. Two additional panel discussions will cover topical issues: the spread and evolution of micromobility and its integration with public transport in order to promote its adoption, with participation from international industry players including Voi Technology, Kolumbus, and ShareBike, among others.
Vaimoo’s e-bike sharing system was developed by Angel Company, a holding company engaged in the railway diagnostics, digital mechatronics, and aerospace sectors.

In pursuit of its mission, it reports, it is constantly improving solutions in all its components, from e-bike fleets manufactured in Italy to racks and management platforms that can be integrated with existing transportation systems and third-party technologies.
A research report by management consultancy firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and the University of St Gallen in Switzerland found that micromobility holds great promise for cities but only if integrated into their current transportation landscape.
The survey revealed that offering bundled options – micromobility transportation options with public transit – could likely increase use considerably. Consumers surveyed indicated that they would be willing to pay 22 per cent to 25 per cent more (a weighted average increase) for different bundled offerings.
