Petronas, Malaysia’s state-run oil & gas giant, is scouting for land in Tamil Nadu for its proposed green hydrogen and ammonia plants.
Petroleum Nasional Bhd or Petronas, which signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government of Tamil Nadu in July 2022, is reportedly seeking a land parcel of as much as 10,000 acres for the development of the plants, which will also require solar plants to operate. Tamil Nadu is reportedly ready to support the Malaysian company through capital or turnover subsidies.
