Singapore bagged six winners in the Asia-Pacific Smart City awards
Digital twins, floating energy storage systems, data-driven policing and smart water network projects are among the showcase of smart city projects crowned winners in IDC’s 2022 Smart City Asia/Pacific Awards (SCAPA) winners.
The Southeast Asia region secured seven of the 22 awards – Singapore with six and Indonesia with one. The East Asia region bagged 11 of the 22 awarded initiatives in total – Taiwan with five, China with four, and South Korea with two.
Socio-economic impact
“IDC’s eighth year of SCAPA Awards stand as another milestone in the series. After the peak of Covid waves, cities focused on the next normal with increased adoption of digital, targeting socio-economic impact,” said Gerald Wang, head of public sector research at IDC Asia/Pacific. “We witnessed record participation this year, with 300-plus nominations and quarter of a million unique public votes.”
